Tim Platt, ’78 – Platt earned his B.A. in biology from Concordia. He earned both a bachelor’s degree in 1980 and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1982 from the National College of Chiropractic.
Platt was a four-year letterman and team captain in football, basketball and baseball. His skills at quarterback made him the Illini-Badger Conference leader in passing and total offense for the 1976 season, and he was named their Offensive Player of the Year. His career pass completion mark of 54.5 percent remains the Cougars’ record through 2008.
Platt started at point guard for the basketball team, and his 350 career assists rank him fourth on the all-time list. He played at catcher for the baseball team, and he earned All-Northern Illinois Intercollegiate Conference honors in his freshman season.
Upon graduation, Platt served one year as an assistant coach for football and two separate stints as an assistant coach for basketball before succeeding Tom Faszholz in 1984 and leading the men’s team for the next three seasons.
Platt has served in several capacities, including the Board of Directors and as chair of the Strategic Planning Committee, for his home congregation of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Aurora.
Platt worked as a chiropractic physician for 11 years. He is currently the vice president of investments for UBS Financial Services in Naperville.
