Kim (Schumacher) Willi BA ’95 earned her bachelor’s degree in secondary education/math. She earned a master’s in math from Illinois State University in 2002.
Willi lettered four years each in volleyball and basketball. In volleyball, she was a three-time All-Northern Illinois Intercollegiate Conference honoree. Willi led the Cougars with 266 kills in 1992 and then recorded 341 kills and 287 digs in helping the Cougars to a 26-8 record in 1993.
In basketball, Willi is seventh all-time in scoring with 1,071 points through 2019. Her career totals of 569 rebounds, 200 assists and 162 steals rank her among the top ten in each category. Willi was named All-NIIC for women’s basketball in 1995 when she led the Cougars with 304 points.
Willi was named to the NIIC All-Scholastic team in both 1994 and 1995. In addition, she was honored with Concordia’s A.W. Gross and Terry-Schubert awards in 1995.
Upon graduation, Willi taught math and physical education for one year at Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, MI. She then returned to her alma mater of Eureka High School in Eureka, IL and has taught math classes for the past 23 years and coached the basketball and volleyball teams for 11 years, including a 92-73 record as head coach of the volleyball team from 2001-05.
