Eric Boeche BA ’99 earned his bachelor’s in business administration and a Master’s in Business Education from Roosevelt University in 2007.
Boeche was the Cougar baseball team’s catalyst in the resurgence of the program in the late 1990s. As leadoff man and centerfielder, Boeche led the Cougars to a 79-61-1 record over his four years, including a 25-10 record and a 1996 Northern Illinois-Intercollegiate Conference championship in his freshman season.
A CUC baseball first, Boeche earned NIIC All-Conference honors in each of his four years. He was named a 1998 Preseason D-III All-American by Baseball America, and he led the conference in runs scored and walks during both the 1998 and 1999 seasons.
Batting .381 for his 123-game career, Boeche’s career average ranked third all-time and holds CUC’s career record in on-base percentage at .532 through 2018. He is also in the Cougars’ top ten all-time record in runs scored with 148 (eighth) and stolen bases with 59 (third). Since 1999, Boeche has held the NCAA Division III record for most consecutive times on base (20).
Boeche coaches on the varsity and sophomore levels at Glenbard South High School. Since 2005, he has taught business at both Glenbard South and Glenbard West High Schools. He remains active as a player in adult leagues in the Chicagoland area.
