Guenther (Gint) Herzog, ’50, earned his master’s from St. Francis College, Fort Wayne, Indiana in 1963.

            
Herzog was a starter on the men’s basketball team for four years. He was elected to the All Badger-Illini Conference Team for three years. He was the leading scorer for three years, setting school records for most points in a season and single game. Herzog also starred as a pitcher for the Cougar baseball team for three years with one no-hitter to his credit. Upon leaving Concordia, he played semi-pro basketball and baseball.

            
In his career path, Herzog was a teacher at Zion Lutheran School in Fort Wayne from 1950 to 1969, serving as principal for four of those years. He moved on to be a guidance director at Concordia High School in Fort Wayne from 1964 to 1969 and served as principal and executive director of the board from 1969 to 1992. Herzog acted as executive director for the Concordia Educational Foundation from 1991 to 2000 upon where he was named executive director emeritus. Herzog was honored as Alumnus of the Year from Concordia River Forest in 1992.
