Alfred Hermann, ’64, earned his master’s from Bowling Green State University, Ohio.

            
Hermann received his initial call to Concordia River Forest where, in 2002, he is in his 37th year of teaching, coaching and administering.

            
As a student at Concordia, Hermann competed in basketball for four years and in cross-country for two. He was elected team captain in basketball for three years and played on the team that went to the NCAA tournament in 1964-65. Hermann was elected to the NCAA Great Lakes Region All-Tournament Team in his junior year. Upon his graduation, he was in the top ten of career points and assists. Hermann was elected to the CIT All-Tournament Team twice and was the CIT Most Valuable Player in his senior year.

            
As a coach at Concordia, Hermann served as men’s basketball junior varsity coach and assistant varsity coach (1965-81), women’s varsity basketball coach (1982-87), and cross-country coach (1971-95). He coached the women’s basketball team to a winning record in six out of the seven years, winning CIT twice and a conference title once.
