Athletic Hall of Fame
Alexandra (Schmidt) Miller BA ’14, MA ’18 earned her bachelor’s degrees in secondary education/physical education and exercise science and her master’s degree in school counseling.
Miller ran four years of cross-country and competed in track and field as a distance runner. Her achievements in cross-country included All-Northern Athletics Conference honors in 2012 and 2013 and an honorable mention in 2010. Through 2019, two of her 6K times are in the top three of CUC’s all-time list while three of her 5k times are in the all-time top ten. Miller captained the cross-country team three years.
Miller graduated CUC holding eight track and field records including the indoor distance medley relay and the outdoor 3K steeplechase. Six of her records remain standing through 2019, including the 3K and 5K (both indoors and outdoors), and the outdoor 10K and 4 x 800 relay. Miller was named the 2012 NAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Year, both indoors and outdoors, and was a member of the 2010 and 2012 NAC indoor champion squads.
A member of the 2010 team cross-country team designated All-Academic by the USTFCCCA, Miller was also an NAC Scholar-Athlete every year of her collegiate career. She was the 2014 recipient of the A.W. Gross Distinguished Senior-Scholar Award.
Miller has served as an athletic director, physical education and health teacher at schools in Florida and Illinois. She currently teaches health and physical education at East Aurora High School.
