Janet (Young) Bahr, ’87, was a four-year member of the volleyball and basketball teams at Concordia. A standout middle hitter in volleyball, she holds the single-match school record for kill percentage (.750), set in both 1985 and 1986. Bahr continues to hold seven different records in basketball, including most rebounds in a season (335) and career (896), and most field goals made (172) and attempted (395) in a season.

            
Bahr was named to all-conference teams three times in volleyball and two times in basketball. She was named All-CIT in 1987, and she capped off her Cougar career by winning the A.W. Gross Distinguished Senior Scholar award.

            
Upon graduation, Bahr went on to teach for seven years in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She coached the varsity girls’ basketball team at Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne where, through the 2002-03 season, her teams won two sectional championships, one regional championship and one conference title. Currently, Bahr is serving as athletic director, volleyball and girls basketball coach at Lake County Lutheran in Hartland, Wisconsin.
