Peter Lark ’99 earned his BA in secondary education. He earned his MA in coaching and athletic administration at Concordia University Irvine in 2010.
Lark lettered four years in basketball from 1994-98. Through 2011, he ranks second on Concordia’s all-time scoring list with 1,819 points and fourth for points per game with an 18.6 average. Lark set the single-season record for points with 573 in 1997-98, and his 24.2 scoring average in 10 conference games led the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference. He holds the free throw records for most made and attempted in both a season and career and is fifth all-time in rebounds at Concordia with 832 (8.5).
Lark moved into second place on the Cougars’ all-time scoring list January 31, 1998 in the championship game of the 47th annual Concordia Invitational Tournament. Playing in his hometown of St. Paul, Minn., Lark scored 33 points in leading the Cougars past Concordia Wisconsin for the title. Lark was named the MVP of the tournament.
Lark earned all-NIIC recognition in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. He was a three-time All-CIT selection and earned multiple all-tournament recognitions over his sophomore, junior and senior years.
Upon graduation, Lark taught four years at St. John Lutheran High School in Ocala, Fla. Since 2003, he has taught social science at Orange Lutheran High School in California. While at Orange Lutheran, he has helped lead students on a service trip in 2005 to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and a mission trip in 2007 to Malawi.
Lark has served as a varsity assistant boys’ basketball coach at Orange Lutheran. He contributed to the success of the 2010-11 team which won the school’s first CIF Southern Section championship.
