Lois A. Klatt received her bachelor’s degree from West Chester State University, West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1960 with a major in physical education and a minor in science education. Klatt was awarded her master’s from the University of Wisconsin with a major in biochemistry and a minor in tests and measurements in 1965. She returned to school a third time and received her doctorate from Indiana University with a major in biomechanics and a minor in motor learning and instructional systems technology.

            
Klatt coached Concordia women’s basketball and softball (1963-73, 1975-81), compiling career winning records in both. Her 1981 women’s basketball team earned runner-up honors in the Illinois small school basketball tournament. Klatt also coached tennis in 1975 and was the club badminton and swimming coach from 1966 to 1968.

            
Klatt was the director of women’s intramurals and coed intramurals through the Women’s Athletic Recreation Association at Concordia from 1963 to 1973 and again from 1975 to 1981. She initiated the women’s Concordia Invitational Tournament in 1964, established an equal opportunity for CURF women’s sports in 1979, and participated in the establishment of CURF’s current sports conference for men and women in 1980.

            
In addition to coaching, Klatt has achieved multiple accomplishments related to officiating. These include a national officiating rating in basketball, honorary national field hockey umpire (lifetime), and member of the Northern Illinois Board of Women Officials from 1963 to 1985 and chair from 1965 to 1969. She has also achieved status in sports medicine as a member of the United States Olympic Sports Biomechanic team during the 1984 Olympics.

            
Klatt is a distinguished professor of human performance at Concordia University, River Forest since 1963.
