Conrad J. Aumann graduated from Valparaiso University and received his master’s from Wayne State University.

Aumann coached at Concordia for the latter part of the 20th century: football (1964-82), baseball (1965-78), softball (1984-91), and junior varsity basketball (1964). Aumann took the 1984 Cougar softball team to conference and Metro Chicago Championships, making them the first softball team at Concordia invited to play in the NCAA Division III playoffs. Aumann led the Cougar football team to a Concordia season-best record of 7-2 in 1968. He was named NAIA Football Coach of the Year in 1975. Lastly, he guided the 1979 baseball team to an 18-6 record. The Cougar baseball program earned 125 victories under Aumann’s guidance.

Besides coaching, Aumann served as an administrator, athletic director and teacher during his 35-year career at Concordia before retiring in 1999.
