Thurman Hendrix ’99 MA ‘03 received his BS in exercise science and his MS in human services – exercise science from Concordia.
 
Hendrix was a four-year letterman who played in and started all 132 games of his career between 1996 and 1999. As a freshman in 1996, Hendrix batted .324 for the 25-10 team that earned Concordia its first-ever Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference championship. The shortstop went on to earn all-NIIC honors the following three seasons. In his senior year, in which he batted .409 with 40 runs scored and 47 RBIs in 38 games, Hendrix was awarded the NIIC Player of the Year and NCAA All-Central Region honors. Through 2014, Hendrix ranked fifth all-time for Concordia with a .367 career batting average. His season averages of .410 in 1998 and .409 in 1999 rank ninth and tenth respectively for single-season bests.
 
An outstanding student as well, Hendrix earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors during the 1998 and 1999 seasons. He was named an NIIC Scholar-Athlete three times beginning with his sophomore year.
 
Following graduation, Hendrix played professional baseball for the Cook County Cheetahs and returned to Concordia as an assistant baseball coach. He later founded Neurobody Performance, Inc., a sports performance company that serves professional, college and high school athletes. Hendrix has also authored several magazine articles and a book, “60-Yard Dash Secrets” and served as a guest speaker on many strength and conditioning matters.
