Tim Concannon ’91 earned his BA in business management. He earned his MBA in technology, operations management and leadership from Aurora University in 2009.
In football, Concannon played four years at defensive back from 1986 to 1989 and captained the team his senior year. Upon graduation, he held single-game records for tackle assists and total tackles and a season record for interceptions. Through 2012, his single-game mark of 20 tackle assists remains the standard.
A starter on the 1987 team that went 7-2 and won the Illini-Badger Conference title, Concannon was voted the Cougars’ Most Improved Player on Defense by his teammates. Concannon was named a 1988 NCAA Division III Pre-Season All-American and earned first-team All-Illini-Badger honors. In 1989, Concannon was voted the conference’s Defensive Back of the Year.
Concannon wrestled four seasons and captained the team his junior and senior years. He compiled a career record of 93-32-2, his 93 wins ranking him second on Concordia’s all-time list. Concannon went 29-5 in his 167 weight class during the 1989-90 season, earning a trip to the NCAA III national competition in Ithaca, New York. He won three of his five matches and finished seventh nationally to earn All-American honors.
Concannon served as an assistant coach for the Cougar football and wrestling teams in 1990-91. He also assisted the wrestling team at Bloom Trail High School for two seasons during which two of the team’s athletes qualified for the IHSA State Tournament.
Currently, Concannon is employed as a Manager, Global Quality for Navistar Defense.
