Jim Ledebuhr, ’82 – Ledebuhr earned his B.A. in physical education from Concordia in 1982 and his M.S. in physical education from Eastern Michigan University in 1989.
Ledebuhr lettered in basketball for four years and served as a team captain. Through 2009, the 6’7” forward remains on several of Concordia’s top ten lists. Ledebuhr ranks fourth in points with 1,484, sixth in rebounds with 736, tenth in assists with 241 and tenth in career scoring average with 14.7 points per game. An excellent free throw shooter, Ledebuhr holds Concordia’s career record with an .867 percentage, hitting on 313 of 361.
Ledebuhr was a two-time All-Northern Illinois Intercollegiate Conference selection in 1980 and 1981 and an NAIA District 20 Honorable Mention in 1981. He was named to the CIT All-Tournament team three times and was awarded Most Valuable Player honors in 1979 and 1981.
Upon graduation, Ledebuhr taught 12 years at Calvary Lutheran in Lincoln Park, Michigan where he coached four sports and served as youth director. Since 1994, he has taught, coached and served as athletics director at Zion Lutheran in Belleville, Illinois. His basketball and baseball teams have won a combined 10 conference championships, and the basketball team has placed in the top ten at the state basketball tournament four times. The boys’ track team has placed in the top ten at the state meet 10 times and the girls’ team seven times.
