Christie Beckemeier, ’76, played four seasons for both the Cougar volleyball and softball programs, serving as team captain during her junior and senior years.  Her softball career was highlighted by throwing a no-hitter against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1976, getting 14 of a possible 15 outs on strikeouts.

            
Beckemeier graduated Concordia with a B.A. in education. She worked 14 years for the Social Security Administration before retiring in 1993. Beckemeier, who also volunteered for the elderly “Good Neighbor” program during the 80s and 90s, is a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Kansas City.
