Davina (Polk) Lausen BA ’93 earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration.
A junior transfer from the United States Military Academy, West Point, Lausen was Concordia-Chicago’s first track and field athlete to compete in the national meet. In 1992, she earned the honor of All-American in the triple jump with a seventh-place finish (36’ 11 ¾”) at the Outdoor Nationals. In 1993, Lausen qualified for the triple and long jumps at the Indoor Nationals (missing All-American status in both by three-quarters of an inch) and the long jump in the Outdoor Nationals. Through 2017, she continues to hold school records in the triple and long jumps indoors, and the heptathlon, triple and long jumps outdoors. She is the co-record holder of the high jump outdoors.
Shortly after graduation, Lausen was commissioned as a Logistics Officer in the U.S. Army. She has held a variety of positions from Platoon Leader to Recruiter to Commander and has served in Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2017, Lausen returned to Korea for a third time to serve as the Executive Officer for 403rd Army Field Service Brigade in Taegu.
Lausen has not only committed her time and service to the military but also as an International Churches of Christ Youth Ministry teacher, a Bible study leader and a HOPE worldwide Oahu Chapter Committee member and volunteer.
