Elizabeth A. Spletzer, ’69, was a member of the women’s basketball, softball and volleyball teams. During the 1968-69 year, she was the extramural chairwoman for the Women’s Athletic Association (WAA) at Concordia.

            
Upon leaving Concordia, Spletzer earned a master's in physical education from Eastern Michigan University and served as an instructor of physical education and health at Lutheran High School West in Detroit. While at Lutheran West, she started and coached the women’s basketball, volleyball and softball programs. She then left Detroit and accepted a job as the department head for the physical education and health department at Lutheran High School in Mayer, Minnesota. She coached women’s varsity basketball, track and cross-country while also initiating and coaching women’s softball and volleyball. In 1982, her volleyball team won the Minnesota State Class A Championship. While teaching in Minnesota, she served as athletic director from 1981 to 1986. Most recently, Spletzer has served as an education specialist in the division of kinesiology at the University of Minnesota.
