Cougars Head North for Pioneers

RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse team will head to Waukeshia, Wis. tomorrow afternoon to take on the Pioneers of Carroll University for their second game of the 2019 season.

Face off is set to start at 4:30 p.m. (CST) with a link for live video available at cucougars.com/coverage.

Scouting Carroll... The Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse program won its first ever game against Carroll back in 2016, when then freshman Jordan Loeffler tallied two goals en route to the Cougars' 10-6 victory. The Pioneers are off to a 0-3 start this season, with key scoring efforts coming from sophomore Michael Peters and junior Jeff Schultz. The duo has combined for nine goals and 12 of the team's 19 total points on the year thus far.

Liskey's Mask... With big expectations coming into his sophomore year, it took just one game for Jack Liskey to reclaim his throne. The Crown Point, Ind. native earned MLC Defensive Player of the Week on Monday night, for stopping 17 shots and finishing with a 65.4 save percentage in CUC's 9-8 overtime loss to Oglethorpe last weekend. His efforts in net against the Stormy Petrels also helped CUC compete in its first ever overtime contest. With Liskey's honor, it marked the first time a Cougar men's lacrosse player earned MLC accolades.

Ship it Off to Boston... Freshman Boston Dumas had a stellar start to his career over the weekend, with the rookie winning 12 of 18 faceoffs and tabbing his first career points off two goals and one assists. The Utah native also had the game-high six ground balls.

A Warm Welcome... Brett Krueger's return to college lacrosse was well-received as the junior scored a game-high five points against Oglethorpe. With points off three goals and two assists, Krueger assisted on two man-up goals and scored what proved to be the equalizing goal to send CUC into overtime.
