Scarlet Hawks Soar Away With Win Over Cougars

CHICAGO, ILL. --- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's lacrosse team headed into the city today to take on the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT). The Cougars would end up losing in this match with a final score of 21-2.

Inside the Box Score:
  • Two Cougars scored goals in Henry Hayes (Oconomowoc, Wis.) and Carter Jedras (Mt Prospect, Ill.)
  • Seba Miller (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and Peter Borkowski (St. Louis, Mo.) would pick up the most ground balls with three apiece
  • Borkowski would pick up 11 saves on the night
First Half

The Cougars would begin neck-in-neck with the Scarlet Hawks, when they both would score a goal off the rip 1-1. However, it quickly would get out of had for CUC, as they would not get another shot off in the first quarter. IIT would end up taking a hefty lead of 10-1 at this point.



IIT would open with another goal 11-1, but Zachary Lewandowski (West Dundee, Ill.) would respond with a shot and get stopped by the IIT goalie. The Scarlet Hawks would keep the Cougars off of offense and take a 15-1 lead into the half.

Second Half

To start the second half, Andrew Lechuga (El Monte, Calif.) would get a shot on goal, but again be stopped by the IIT goalie. However, this time Hayes was able to capitalize and score a CUC goal 15-2. IIT would end up scoring one more goal to end the third quarter, 16-2.



The Scarlet Hawks would go on another run, making the score 21-2. In a last ditch effort, Dylan Kenney (Boerne, Texas) and Hayes would both try to score, but IIT locked down in net and kept the away from scoring. The Cougars would lose this game with a final score of 21-2.
