He would get an additional shot off before the Spartans score two more to close the first half. The Spartans would lead 16-0 going into the half.

Hayes would come out hot in the second half with another shot, but the Spartans went on a tirade, making it 21-0 to end the third quarter. Miller would get his first shot on goal, but would be thwarted by the Spartan goalie. AU would then go on to score two more, 23-0. Cole Farren (Yorkville, Ill.) and Andrew Lechuga (El Monte, Calif.) joined Hayes, getting more shots off themselves. Miller then got back-to-back shots on goal, followed by another from Brady Dennis (South Glens Falls, N.Y.), but this would not be enough to score.
