Liskey's Mask... With big expectations coming into his sophomore year, it took just one game for
Jack Liskey to reclaim his throne. The Crown Point, Ind. native earned
MLC Defensive Player of the Week on last week, for stopping 17 shots and finishing with a 65.4 save percentage in CUC's 9-8 overtime loss to Oglethorpe last weekend. His efforts in net against the Stormy Petrels also helped CUC compete in its first ever overtime contest. With Liskey's honor, it marked the first time a Cougar men's lacrosse player earned MLC accolades. Since then, the sophomore has earned one win in net, scored his first ever career goal and combined for 21 saves over a two-game span.
Ship it Off to Boston... Freshman
Boston Dumas has had a stellar start to his career over the first two games of the year, with the rookie leading from the face off circle and winning 36 of 53 face offs. The Utah native currently leads the team with 26 ground balls and is second on the team in points with six goals and two assists.
A Warm Welcome... Brett Krueger's return to college lacrosse was well-received as the junior currently leads the team in scoring with eight goals and four assists. Finishing his freshman year as CUC's leading scorer, Krueger's season point total currently ranks eighth in the conference, with the Wisconsin native highlighting Concordia-Chicago's win over Carroll by scoring the man-up game-winning goal.
A Season of Firsts... Just three games into the season, the Cougars are already looking to continue breaking barriers for the men's lacrosse program. As the team has competed in its first ever overtime contest, earned its first ever conference Player of the Week honor and tallied its earliest win in a season to date, CUC will now work to build upon its momentum and reach an unprecedented second win of the season.
