RIVER FOREST, ILL. -- Three members of the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's basketball team have earned a spot on the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team.
Darrian Williams (Garland, Texas),
Ryker Johnson (Fond du Lac, Wis.), and
AJ Willard (Germantown, Wis.) all excelled on the court and in the classroom and in this season. To make the CSC Academic All-District Team student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or above in order to be nominated.
Williams picked up his first Academic All-District nod after earning NACC All-Conference accolades in his final season. Williams started and appeared in all 25 games this season for the Cougars, leading the way on the court. He led the Cougars in scoring with 287 total points, averaging 11.5 points per game. He also led the Cougars in assists with 56, steals with 38, and total 3-point field goals with 42. Williams also found himself on the conference statistical categories, ranking 12th in total 3-point field goals, 15th in 3-point field goals per game, 17th in total assists, 22nd in assists per game, and 11th in steals per game. Williams had many strong games this season, picking up career-high 26 points against Aurora University (Jan. 21st), career-high ten rebounds against George Fox University (Nov. 21st) and career-high seven assists against North Park University (Dec. 30th).
Johnson also picked up his first Academic All-District nod after appearing in all 25 games this season with 19 starts. Johnson averaged 6.4 points per game collecting 159 total points on the season. He contributed 12 three-pointers while shooting a team-high 38.7% from deep. Johnson also added in 114 total rebounds on the year, 40 assists, 20 steals, and 11 blocks. He had a career-high 20 points against Pacific University (Nov. 22nd), career-high four assists and three steals against Goerger Fox (Nov. 21st).
Willard also picked up his first Academic All-District nod after appearing in all 25 games this season with eight starts. Willard averaged 3.3 points per game with 82 total points on the season. He contributed 28 steals, 22 assists, and three blocks on the year. Willard picked up career-high six rebounds against Edgewood University (Feb. 11th) and career-high four steals against Wisconsin Lutheran College (Feb. 7th).
The Cougars finished the season 8-17 overall and 7-11 in NACC play.
