Coaching Staff of the Year
For the first time in her career, O'Malley-Fisher picked up the nod for Coach of the Year alongside her stacked coaching staff. O'Malley-Fisher completed her 13th season at the helm of the Cougar Softball program where she led the team to their first 20+ win season since 2019. In addition to picking up 23 wins on the season, O'Malley-Fisher led the team to 16 conference wins, marking the most conference wins in her career. During her career at CUC, O'Malley-Fisher has coached two All-Americans and various NACC All-Conference, NFCA All-Region, and CSC Academic All-District team members. Additionally, in her first ten years with the Cougars she has guided them to five 20 plus win seasons, including a school record 26 in 2018. Under her guidance the Cougars have appeared in the conference tournament five times. In the 2023 season, the team maintained the No. 1 batting average in the conference for majority of the season. Additionally, multiple Cougars and the team were atop the top five in the nation for runs per game and doubles per game.

Next to O'Malley-Fisher is a stack of assistants in Dave Golitko, Izzy Ortiz, Sydney Paulauskis-Lauher, Taylor Kulaszewicz, and first year graduate assistant Bella Archuletta. Ortiz, Paulauskis-Lauher, Kulaszewicz, and Archuletta are all alumnis of the program. Golitko, in his ninth season with the Cougars, can be seen coaching third base while working with the hitters and breaking down film. An integral part of creating the scouting report, Golitko focuses on the technical aspects of the game and helps translate adjustments to the players. Ortiz, a former Cougar outfielder, assists with the hitters and third base coaching while focusing her time on the outfielders. Paulauskis-Lauher and Kulaszewicz, former pitcher/infielder and catcher for the Cougars, respectively, work with the pitchers and catchers. Kulaszewicz primarily can be seen calling pitches for the team in game. This season, Paulauskis-Lauher led the pitching staff to an ERA of 4.59, the lowest since 2017 while utilizing eight arms throughout the season. Archuletta, a former Cougar infielder, focused this season on assisting with the hitters and infielders while running various day-to-operations for the team.
