Izzy Ortiz joined the Concordia University Chicago Softball coaching staff in January of 2022.
Ortiz joins the coaching staff after two years in the Cougar Softball program, being a junior college transfer from Joliet Junior College. As a Cougar, she played in 44 games while starting in 39. She collected 45 putouts as an outfielder for the 2020 and 2021 seasons, also amounting to 8 stolen bases.
Before her time at CUC, she played for the Wolves of Joliet Junior college as a utility player. Hitting over .300 in both of her seasons for the purple and black, she appeared in 94 games with 36 stolen bases and 92 putouts.
Ortiz earned her bachelor's degree in sports management at CUC. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in sports leadership.
