NACC All-Conference Honors Bestowed To Four Cougars

 

RIVER FOREST, ILL. — Today the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) released the 2023 Women's Lacrosse All-Conference listing. Four different Cougars earned themselves this postseason honor: Ryan McGee (Chicago, Ill.) and Sarah Ludwig (Roselle, Ill.) both earned All-NACC First Team, as well as Rylee Orenstein (Walnut Creek, Calif.) and Kelli Pietrowski (Wheeling, Ill.) earning All-NACC Second Team.

McGee snags her third consecutive NACC First Team honor in her senior season. With all fourteen games played and started, with a total of 837 minutes played. With a 4-10 record, she has totaled 162 saves with a .488 save percentage off of 459 shots faced. In conference, she finished off the season second in saves per game and third in save percentage.

Also grabbing NACC First Team was Ludwig, this is her second All-NACC honor and first time as First Team. The graduate student played in 12 games with nine total starts. On the defense, she totaled 30 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. She led the team this season in caused turnovers.

For her third consecutive year for All-Conference was Orenstein, with her second consecutive Second-Team honor. With thirteen games played and started, Orenstein totaled 26 goals, seven assists, and 33 total points, for a total shot percentage of .342. Additionally, the attack/midfielder has caused 14 turnovers, 28 ground balls, and 38 draw controls. She led the team in assists and ended second on the team in goals and points.

Finally, Pietrowski had her second consecutive All-NACC Second Team honor as well. With fourteen games played and started, Pietrowski scored 36 goals, three assists, and 39 total points, for a total shot percentage of .387. She also picked up 23 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. In conference, Pietrowski finished seventh in shots per goals and ninth in goals per game. Leading the team in multiple categories, Pietrowski was ahead in goals and points.
