Three Cougars Receive CSC Academic All-District Recognition

RIVER FOREST, ILL. — Three Cougars were named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. Ryan McGee (Chicago, Ill.), Jessica Parker (Lake in the Hills, Ill.), and Kelli Pietrowski (Wheeling, Ill.) were all chosen to represent Concordia University Chicago (CUC) due to their athletic performance and academic prowess in the classroom. As a student, all athletes must have a 3.5 or above in order to be nominated for CSC Academic All-District recognition. These athletes will now be moved forward to the CSC Academic All-America ballot for a chance to receive first or second team recognition, which will be announced on June 22nd.

McGee, a senior goalie from Illinois, started and appeared and started in 14 games for the maroon and gold this season. With a 4-10 record, she has totaled 162 saves with a .488 save percentage off of 459 shots faced. In conference, she finished off the season second in saves per game and third in save percentage. McGee was recognized by the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference with All-Conference First Team. As a Marketing and Sports Management major, McGee graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.97 GPA as a Cougar.

Parker, a junior midfielder from Illinois, appeared and started in 14 games in the maroon and gold. Parker scored 22 goals, five assists, and totaled 27 points for a total shot percentage of .328. She also picked up a team-high 47 ground balls and caused 13 turnovers. In conference, Parker finished seventh in ground balls per game and tenth in draw controls per game. As an Exercise Science major, Parker has accumulated a 3.83 GPA as a Cougar. 

Pietrowski, a graduate student attack from Illinois, appeared and started in 14 games for the maroon and gold.  Pietrowski scored 36 goals, three assists, and 39 total points, for a total shot percentage of .387. She also picked up 23 ground balls and 12 caused turnovers. In conference, Pietrowski finished seventh in shots per goals and ninth in goals per game. Leading the team in multiple categories, Pietrowski was ahead in goals and points. Pietrowski was recognized by the NACC with All-Conference Second Team. As a School Counseling major, Pietrowski has accumulated a 4.00 GPA as a Cougar.
