RIVER FOREST, ILL. — Today, the College Sports Communicators (CSC) released the At-Large Teams for the 2023 Academic All-District Teams. Falling underneath the at-large category, the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's lacrosse team had two Cougars to earn this honor, Peter Borkowski (St. Louis, Mo.) and Justin Headley (Baltimore, Md.). As a student, all athletes must have a 3.5 or above in order to be nominated for CSC Academic All-District recognition. These athletes will now be moved forward to the CSC Academic All-America ballot for a chance to receive first or second team recognition, which will be announced on June 21st.

Headley, a junior long stick midfielder from Baltimore, Maryland, was one of the two Cougars to earn All-District honors. Headley played in 14 games, starting in 13 of those, for the 2023 Cougar men's lacrosse season. He led the team in ground balls with a total of 60. Additionally, he had 10 goals and nine assists, totaling up to 19 points on the season. An occasional faceoff man, Headley won 23 of his 52 appearances and caused 10 turnovers. As a secondary education major, Headley accumulated a 3.68 GPA for this year.

Along with Headley was the main sophomore goalie for the Cougars, Borkowski. From St. Louis, Missouri, Borkowski took almost all time in goal, with 15 games played and started this season. He finished with 245 saves and a .484 save percentage for his second year as a Cougar. Tying his career-high twice this season, Borkowski had four games with 20-plus saves as the Cougars backstop. As a communications major, Borkowski accumulated a 4.00 GPA for this year.

The Cougars finished their season with an 0-15 overall record and 0-8 in conference play.
