Greg Manos Hired as New Head Men's Volleyball Coach

RIVER FOREST, ILL. — Concordia University Chicago and Director of Athletics Pete Gnan is excited to announce the new head CUC men's volleyball coach, Greg Manos.
 
"We are extremely excited that Greg Manos has accepted the position of Head Men's Volleyball Coach," Athletic Director Pete Gnan commented. "His experience is phenomenal and Greg has many relationships in the Chicago area that made him the right person to lead our program.  During the interview process, Greg provided great insight into how he will lead the program.  I feel confident that the program will take another positive step towards success."
 
Manos brings forth a plethora of coaching knowledge from the Division I level to CUC. In his most current position, he served as the Assistant Coach at Miami University. Some of his primary duties include scouting, player development with a focus on primary passers, and defensive strategy. 
 
Prior to Miami, he served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Radford University where he renovated the scouting system and template, held in-person and film sessions for positional groups to track player development. He also assisted in compliance-related activities for the team.
 
From 2016-2020, he was the Associate Head Coach at Chicago State University. During his time at Chicago State, he helped develop players and heavily recruit to the university. Manos helped coach players who were awarded to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll for 2 consecutive years for upholding a team GPA of 3.7 For the Cougars, he was able to help the team win more Division I matches in four seasons than the program totaled in the previous 11 seasons combined. He also coached a two-time WAC Libero of the Year and WAC-All Freshman team. In some of his more remarkable seasons, he trained setters to lead the WAC in total assists and assists/set, break the university career assist record and make the WAC All-Freshman Team. In fundraising, he was able to hold camps and increase overall profit for the program. Manos was a big part of the strength and conditioning program for the team while also building their social media presence by coordinating content with frequent posts and stories to reach more than 1,300 followers.

During his time in college and post-college, he was a coach for First Alliance VBC, Energy VBC, Hoosierland (Munciana) VBC & Evanston Township High School.

With the program, administrative team and university all striving for growth I'm thrilled to start this new journey!"
 
Manos graduated from Indiana University in 2013 with a bachelor's of science in business and was a part of a 2011 NCVF Final Appearance team.
