Greg Manos

Greg Manos was appointed the third head coach in Concordia University Chicago men’s volleyball history in November of 2022.

So far at CUC, Manos has had two NACC All-Conference honorees and three CSC All-District Team members. In his inaugural season, Manos made history with his Cougar men's volleyball team. They made it to the NACC Conference Tournament for the first time in school history and finished in fifth place. The season was not short of program firsts, as they defeated Benedictine University and Dominican University for the first time ever. In addition, the Cougars were able to pick up their first NACC Tournament win and overall win against MSOE to start off the postseason run. For the 2023 season, 36 total records were broken in single-season, career, and individual game records. In statistics, both Luke Vozenilek and Tyler Holubek led the conference in hitting statstics and the team was No. 3 in the country for blocks per set.

In the summer of 2023, Manos was an Assistant Coach for the Great Lakes Region High Performance Boys U17 Team. They were able to compete in the 2023 USA All-Star Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. In this tournament, his team was able to finish first place overall with a 9-0 record on the weekend.

Manos brings forth a plethora of coaching knowledge from the Division I level to CUC. In his most current position, he served as the Assistant Coach at Miami University. Some of his primary duties include scouting, player development with a focus on primary passers, and defensive strategy.

Prior to Miami, he served as the Assistant Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Radford University where he renovated the scouting system and template, held in-person and film sessions for positional groups to track player development. He also assisted in compliance-related activities for the team.

From 2016-2020, he was the Associate Head Coach at Chicago State University. During his time at Chicago State, he helped develop players and heavily recruit to the university. Manos helped coach players who were awarded to the AVCA Team Academic Honor Roll for 2 consecutive years for upholding a team GPA of 3.7 For the Cougars, he was able to help the team win more Division I matches in four seasons than the program totaled in the previous 11 seasons combined. He also had a two-time WAC Libero of the Year. In some of his more remarkable seasons, he trained setters to lead the WAC in total assists and assists/set, break the university career assist record and make the WAC All-Freshman Team. In fundraising, he was able to hold camps and increase overall profit for the program. Manos was a big part of the strength and conditioning program for the team while also building their social media presence by coordinating content with frequent posts and stories to reach more than 1,300 followers.

During his time in college and post-college, he was a coach for First Alliance VBC, Energy VBC, Hoosierland (Munciana) VBC & Evanston Township High School.
