Box Score Concordia University Chicago Women's Soccer took the field in Notre Dame, Ind., on Wednesday for their season opener against St. Mary's College. The team kept the game within reach throughout, with the Belles eventually scoring their third and final goal in the 65th minute on their way to a 3-0 victory.
The defense provided pressure on the Belles all night, forcing several shots to miss the net. They were excellent in chasing down the ball and closing the lane on shot opportunities.Â
Of St. Mary's 18 shots, only nine were registered on goal. Six of these were saved by junior goalkeeper Kassie Silenzi (Carpentersville, Ill.).Â
The Cougars managed six shots on the evening, with junior Britani Chansler (Naples, Fla.) producing the lone shot on net in the 12th minute.Â
