The Concordia University Chicago men's lacrosse team will play their first home contest in nearly a year on Saturday, March 6 when they host the Mount St. Joseph Lions.
The Cougars opened their season in Kenosha, Wis. against Carthage College. With this tough competition, CUC suffered a 28-5 loss. However, freshman Clayton Emery (Fishers, Ind.) recorded his first career hat trick in the outing. Sophomores Dylan Mordhorst (Centreville, Va.) and Chadd Rowe (Atlanta, Ga.) also contributed to the team's scoring efforts.Â
On defense, senior Jack Liskey (Crown Point, Ind.) and freshman Cameron Gilbert (Chicago Heights, Ill.) each saw time in goal. They faced a strong Carthage offense that scored more than 17 points in their first two games.
The Lions have only played in two games so far this season, losing to both Mount Vernon Nazarene and Wabash. Mount St. Joseph lost 18-9 to Mount Vernon, while they took a bigger loss to Wabash with a score of 23-8. AJ Shaheen is expected to be one of the biggest offensive contributors for the Lions.Â
This will be the first time these two teams will play each other. The game will start at 1 p.m. and a live stream for the game can be found at youtube.com/cucsports.Â
