Men's basketball plans for non-conference game against NCC

The Concordia University Chicago men's basketball team will play North Central College.

The Concordia University Chicago men's basketball team (4-11) isn't done yet in 2021! Following a strong end to the regular season with four wins in their final six games and a narrow loss to top-seeded Rockford in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference tournament, the Cougars will play two final games to complete their season.

The first sees them return to Geiseman Gymnasium a final time to face the North Central College Cardinals (5-5). This will be the first ever meeting in men's basketball between the two schools. The lack of a full season was a particular let down for the Cardinals, who in 2020 advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA DIII Tournament before the spring championships were canceled.

Thursday represents an opportunity for the rest of the team to get a jump on preparation for next season just 7 months away.

Tipoff is at 8 p.m. with an abbreviated JV game to follow. Fans can stream both games at youtube.com/cucsports.
