What You Missed... CUC is off to an 0-1 start on the year, after a hard-fought loss to Trine University back on February 22. Despite the result, the Cougars saw a gritty effort from their offensive unit, as Concordia closed out the game on a four-goal tear. Of CUC's eight goals on the day, freshman
Gabriel Balcaen led the Cougars with an impressive four-goal performance during his college lacrosse debut. Returning All-Conference fogo
Boston Dumas saw success in the face off circle as well, as he won 16-of-25 face offs, scored one goal and drew three assists.Â
About the Bulldogs... Adrian College is 1-1 on the season thus far, including a loss to fellow MLC foe Benedictine University and a commanding 14-3 win over Hiram College. Between the two contests, the Bulldogs are averaging 13.5 goals per game, in addition to 29 turnovers per game. Sophomore Travis Fox leads his Bulldogs with seven goals on the year, while fellow classmate Peyton Gasche leads the team with 10 points off five goals and five assists. From the face off circle, CUC's Dumas will be set to take on Max Leventis, who is 34-of-54 from the face off this year. Tomorrow's contest will be the first in program history between the Cougars and Bulldogs.Â
On the Horizon... After taking on Adrian, CUC will have a 10-day break before beginning Midwest Lacrosse Conference play at Cornell College on Saturday, March 14. Later that week, the Cougars will host their final nonconference opponent, Wabash College, inside Arlotta Stadium on the campus of Notre Dame.
