RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- After snapping a six-game losing streak last weekend, thanks to an overtime win against MSOE, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars will welcome Lakeland University to Geiseman Gymnasium later today, in a high-stakes regular season match up.
Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m., with CJ Selner and Macy Klein on the call on the Cougar Sports Network. Complete coverage can be found at

The History... Dating back to December 2006, CUC and the Muskies have battled things out on the court 24 times. In those 24 contests, the Cougars have won just three of the match ups, last defeating Lakeland University in December 2016, by way of 81-70. Concordia-Chicago will look to snap its six game losing streak to the Muskies, as the Cougars historically average 76.38 points per game against their NACC foes.
Fishing Trip... CUC most recently fell to the Muskies earlier this season, dropping the contest in Plymouth, Wis., 89-76. Despite the loss, freshman
Landen Gladney picked up his 22nd career double-double, grabbing 13 rebounds and 15 points.
Raushaun Amos and
Brent Hatten also added 12 points each to the box score, while Amos was just one rebound shy of his own double-double, with nine boards. Since losing to the Muskies on Dec. 4, 2019, the Cougars have picked up six of their seven victories.
At A Glance... With just six games to go in the regular season, every game is a big one. However, tonight's contest against Lakeland carries substantial weight when looking at the playoff picture. Currently, Concordia-Chicago sits in seventh place among the NACC standings, just one seed out of clinching a playoff berth, and two spots behind the Muskies. With a win over Lakeland, CUC would split the season series with the Muskies
but hold the tie-breaker over them, as Concordia-Chicago has two critical victories over Wisconsin Lutheran College and Benedictine University, which Lakeland lacks.
Swinging Momentum... Learning how to win in the big moments, Concordia-Chicago's last three contests have come down to the final seconds of regulation. After dropping two-straight contests by just one-point, the Cougars turned around and defeated MSOE in overtime last weekend. This season, CUC has played in six games that have either been determined in the final minute of play, or gone to overtime. Of those six contests, the Cougars are 2-4, and picked up both of those wins in the overtime frame.
