RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- After stealing a win from Cornell College earlier in the week, Concordia-Chicago will gear up for a two-game weekend, hosting Augsburg tomorrow afternoon and then Hamline on Sunday.
Game times are both set for a 1 p.m. start time with live stats and video coverage available at
cucougars.com/coverage.
Last Time Out...CUC fell behind 4-10 in the first half against the Rams, but thanks to a 10-goal, second-half shut out, the Cougars marched back to defeat Cornell, 14-10.
Anna Kellar was once again stellar on offense, finishing with six goals and two assists.
Sydney Fuller showed up when it mattered most, finishing the night with two goals and one assist including the ultimate game-winning goal. As a team, CUC caused 12 turnovers and allowed Cornell to take just three second-half shots.
Killer Kellar... Leading the Cougars in scoring, graduate student
Anna Kellar has scored eight or more points during a single game on four different occasions this season. She currently has 55 points on 47 goals and eight assists. With her last goal against Cornell on Wednesday, Kellar scored her 47th goal of the season, breaking CUC's single season record for most goals scored.
Still One Away... For the third time in program history, CUC has reached a six-win mark during a single season. Picking up a win this weekend would make the 2019 squad the winningest team in Concordia-Chicago history.
Scouting the Auggies... Augsburg is 6-3 overall and 6-1 in conference play so far, falling only to Hamline 12-5, last week. CUC will look to beat the Auggies for the first time in program history, as Augsburg is averaging 11.78 goals per game. Auggie Christina Nelson is arguably Augsburg's most dynamic player, tallying nine goals, 25 ground balls and 19 caused turnovers.
A Look at Hamline... Coming off back-to-back MWLC championship seasons, Hamline is 8-0 midway through the 2019 campaign. The Pipers have six different scorers in double-digits with Sydney Dynneson leading the way with 22 goals and six assists. Hamline is out-shooting opponents 34.3 shots per game to 17.3 while goalie Molly Dionne is allowing just 4.89 goals per game. The Cougars are looking for their first victory in program history against the Pipers.
