RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- After a three-game stretch last week, the Cougars have had plenty of time to prepare for a heavy-weight conference match up tomorrow afternoon against Monmouth College.

Last Time Out... CUC women's lacrosse had a tall order last weekend, taking on the #1 and #2 teams in the conference in Augsburg and Hamline. On Saturday against Augsburg, the Cougars fought hard before ultimately falling 13-12 in double overtime. Against the Pipers on Sunday, CUC dropped the conference contest 18-4.
Veteran Value... Four-year players
Margaret Doane,
Anna Kellar and
Sydney Fuller are the "Big Three" to CUC's offense. Between the three, the trio makes up for nearly 77 percent of Concordia-Chicago's total points, to date, this season. Kellar leads the team with 53 goals while Fuller leads in assists with 31. Doane is just behind Kellar and Fuller in both goals and assists with 27 and nine.Â
The Rookie... Freshman
Emily Cyrwus holds her own behind the big three's offensive work, sitting fourth on the team in all three scoring categories. In her rookie year, the Chicago native has 22 goals, four assists and 26 total points. Currently, she sits among the top 30 in the Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference for total goals and has developed into a crucial asset for CUC's draw control, tallying 46, which is good for top 10 in the MWLC.Â
Scots' Scouting Report... Monmouth is 10th in the conference standings currently, with a 3-6 conference record and are 5-7 overall on the year. For the Scots, Kara-Jade Gordon is a dynamic threat, recording 52 goals on the season and 69 total points. She also leads her team in draw controls and caused turnovers with 67 and 42, respectively.Â
