RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- The Concordia-Chicago women's lacrosse team will return to action early this week, slated to take on Illinois Tech inside Concordia Stadium on Tuesday afternoon.

Last Time Out...The Cougars dropped a heartbreaker of a match over the weekend, falling 10-9 in overtime to Concordia Wisconsin. CUC's upperclassmen led the way as
Anna Kellar scored five goals, followed by
Margaret Doane,
Sydney Fuller and
Sandra Acevedo each adding two and one goals each, respectively. With 15 seconds to go in regulation, the Cougars were down 9-8 until Kellar dodged through the defense to score the equalizing goal. In overtime, the Falcons wasted no time scoring the golden goal just 12 seconds into the frame.Â
Killer Kellar... Graduate student
Anna Kellar has been electric for the Cougar offense for her career, but also the start of the 2019 campaign. Through seven games, the Collinsville, Ill. native has 32 goals scored and 37 total points. Averaging 4.50 goals per game, she currently ranks 31st among NCAA Division III lacrosse.  A threat all across the field throughout her career, Kellar has also won 108 draw controls for the maroon and gold, while causing 86 total turnovers.Â
An Apple a Day... SeniorÂ
Sydney Fuller is CUC's ultimate play maker, as the senior has 28 points on the season, 22 of which come from dishing assists. Averaging 3.33 assists per game, Fuller currently ranks 12th nationally and leads the MWLC in assists per game. In her CUC tenure, she has 83 total assists and will look to beat her own record for most assists in a season, which she previously set in 2018 with 39.
Scouting IIT... The Scarlet Hawks are off to a solid start this season, with a 3-1 overall record and an undefeated 3-0 in MWLC play. Last weekend, IIT dominated Marian, defeating the Sabres 20-4. Illinois Tech also has a convincing 16-5 victory over CUW on their resume, with the Scarlet Hawks out shooting the Falcons 25-17 in the win. IIT's leaders on the offense are undoubtedly Shanie Scoles and Alyssa DeLuca. Between the two Hawks, the players combine for 43 of the team's 87 points. In net, Jessica Cochis has seen most of the action this season, averaging 6.08 goals allowed per game and stopping 55.9 percent of all shots faced.Â
