Last Time Out... When CUC last took to the field, the Cougar offense spread throughout the entire team to take a convincing 14-6 victory over Northwestern (MN). Graduate student
Anna Kellar scored seven goals and one assist, leading the Cougar offense and marking her fourth straight game scoring five points or more. Netminder
Alexis Gandhi saw 22 shots and tallied six saves along the way to her fourth career win.
Sydney Fuller finished the day with five assists, good for the second time this season that the senior has dished five or more assists in a single game. The highlight of the win over Northwestern (MN) came from senior
Jazmin Betancourt recording her first career goal, for CUC's 14th goal of the game.
All-Time vs. CUW... The Cougars are winless against CUW since the program was established back in 2016. Last season, the two teams went head-to-head in River Forest, when CUC fell 15-5 to the Falcons. This year, CUW is 1-5 and 1-1 in MWLC play, with an 11-8 win over Beloit on March 7. Leading the Falcons is senior Lauren Paquin who has 16 goals and one assist. Aside from Paquin, Megan McPike and Kristen Kennedy assist on the offense with each player tallying 10 and eight goals so far on the season, respectively.
Guess Who's Back... Despite completing her undergraduate degree last spring, graduate student
Anna Kellar returned to the field for the Cougars in 2019 for her final season of eligibility. In her tenure, the Collinsville, Ill. native has combined for 127 goals and currently holds the program record for career goals. A threat all across the field, Kellar has also won 104 draw controls for the maroon and gold, while causing 84 turnovers. Last week, in a win over Loras College, Kellar scored seven goals and two assists, tying her own program record for most points scored in a single season.
Fuller's Production... Senior
Sydney Fuller has been a steady hand for the CUC women's lacrosse program throughout her tenure. In the first six games of her final season, the Indiana native is second on the team in points (25), off 20 assists and five goals. In her career, she currently has 81 total assists and will look to beat her own record for most assists in a season, which she previously set in 2018 with 39.
