Last Time Out... When CUC last took to the field, the Cougar offense was red-hot as the team defeated Marian University in the MWLC opener, 16-4. Contributing all across the field,
Sydney Fuller led the way with two goals, three assists and a team-high four caused turnovers and seven draw controls.
Anna Kellar and
Margaret Doane were stellar on offense for the Cougars, as the two combined for 10 goals, scoring four and six respectively.
Alexis Gandhi came out with her second win from in between the pipes, stopping three big shots.
Scouting the Duhawks... Loras will host Concordia-Chicago in its season opener this evening, as inclement weather has stalled the Duhawks' 2019 season. Last season, Loras went 7-9 overall with a 5-6 finish in MWLC conference play. The team returns its leading scorer in junior Olivia Flynn, who tallied 40 goals and eight assists during her sophomore campaign. The Cougars are 1-2 all time when facing the Duhawks, with CUC's lone victory coming last season during a 10-8 rout on the Cougars' Senior Day.
All-Time vs. Beloit... Like Loras, the Cougars are also 1-2 against Beloit in the program's history. CUC defeated the Bucs 12-10 last season in Beloit thanks to four goals from Doane and Fuller, and three from Kellar. Beloit is off to a 2-2 start this season, with a 1-2 mark in MWLC play. Nicole Dolcimascolo currently leads her squad, with 11 goals and three assists through the first four games of the year.
Fuller's Production... Senior
Sydney Fuller has been a steady hand for the CUC women's lacrosse program throughout her tenure. In the first three games of her final season, the Indiana native leads the team with 13 points off 10 assists and three goals. In her career, she currently has 71 total assists and will look to beat her own record for most assists in a season, which she previously set in 2018 with 39.
Guess Who's Back... Despite completing her undergraduate degree last spring, graduate student
Anna Kellar returns to the field for the Cougars in 2019 for her final season of eligibility. In her tenure, the Collinsville, Ill. native has combined for 108 goals and currently holds the program record for career goals. A threat all across the field, Kellar has also won 104 draw controls for the maroon and gold, while causing 76 turnovers.
