River Forest, Ill. -- With one game already under their belt in the 2019 season, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars head to University of Chicago tomorrow night to take on the Maroons in a midweek contest.

Last Time Out... In an all around team effort CUC defeated Concordia Ann Arbor, 12-11, last weekend thanks to six different Cougar scorers.
Margaret Doane led the way with the first goal of the contest and finished with three total. Freshman
Emily Cyrwus had a memorable start to her career too, scoring three goals and dishing one assist. The Chicago native also scored the team's game-winning goal with 28 seconds left on the clock.
It Feels Like the First Time... CUC will take on a brand new program in University of Chicago tomorrow night, while the Maroons have already won their program debut last weekend against DePauw University. UChicago defeated the Tigers 18-4 on their home turf, with freshman Karina Schulze tabbing eight goals on the day.Â

Alexis Gandhi stepped up big for the Cougars against the Cardinals on Saturday, stopping 11 shots and finishing with a 50 percent save percentage on the day to earn her first career victory.Â
Guess Who's Back... Despite completing her undergraduate degree last spring, graduate studentÂ
Anna Kellar returns to the field for the Cougars in 2019 for her final season of eligibility. In her tenure, the Collinsville, Ill. native has combined for 102 goals and currently holds the program record for career goals. A threat all across the field, Kellar has also won 103 draw controls for the maroon and gold, while causing 74 turnovers.Â
Allen's Bio Blast... While in his first season leading the CUC women's lacrosse program, Head CoachÂ
Russell Allen is entering his fifth year as head coach of a collegiate program. Previously, Allen led the Mavericks of Medaille College out of Buffalo, NY for the past four seasons. The Orange, Conn. native is coming off a Coach of the Year campaign and back-to-back regular season titles in the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference.
