RIVER FOREST, Ill. -- With their fifth game of the season on tap for tomorrow night, the Concordia-Chicago Cougars will travel to Lakeland University looking to improve to 2-1 in NACC play. With the Muskies being CUC's fifth straight road opponent, the Cougars will then look forward to their home opener on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m.
Game time is slated for a 7 p.m. start time, with complete coverage available at

Last Time Out... CUC battled head-to-head against the Edgewood Eagles on Sunday, eventually falling 86-70 in Madison. After the Cougars tied the game at 20 apiece midway through the first half, the Eagles then exploded in a 34-9 run to pull ahead to a 25-point lead at the half, which was ultimately too large for CUC to overcome. Despite the loss,
Jalen Meeks,
Landen Gladney and
Brent Hatten each posted their fourth-straight games with double-figures in scoring.
The Rookie... Concordia-Chicago's
Brent Hatten continues to impress this season, as the rookie has scored in double-digits through the first four games of his collegiate career and currently averages 15.5 points per game. As a 57.9 percent shooter from the floor, Hatten is fifth among NACC players and currently leads the NACC in three-point percentage, with over 10 attempts, shooting 60 percent from beyond the arc. With his 60 percent shooting from three, the Illinois native also ranks eighth among all of Division III men's basketball in three-point field-goal percentage.
vs. the Muskies... Dating back to December 2006, the Cougars are 3-20 when taking on Lakeland University. Having won just once on the road in that time, CUC will look to push Lakeland to 0-2 in their conference ledger. So far on the year, the Muskies are 1-4, picking up their lone win against Finlandia University back on Nov. 12. Last season, CUC and Lakeland played a thriller inside Geiseman Gymnasium, where
Landen Gladney gave the Cougars a two-point lead with seven seconds to go just before the Muskies bounced back with a three-pointer to win the contest, 95-92. As a team the Muskies average 73.8 points per game, with senior Carlos Campos leading the way with 16.4 points per game.
Notables... Though off to a quiet start as a shooter,
Raushaun Amos' ball control is difficult to ignore, as the senior currently leads the NACC with a 5.5 assist/turnover ratio. Tomorrow night will mark just the third time this decade that the Cougars have played a game on the night of Dec. 4. Most recently, CUC took on Benedictine University on Dec. 4, 2014, where the Eagles defeated the Cougars 73-59 inside Geiseman Gymnasium.
