Home Debut Comes Early for CUC Men's Lacrosse

March 2, 2016 - A heavy snowfall in western Michigan has given fans of the Concordia-Chicago men's lacrosse team an early-season gift. The Cougars' first-ever intercollegiate game against Kalamazoo College was first moved back a day to Thursday and then moved to Concordia Stadium to accommodate for weatjher conditions. This gives the Cougars their home debut about three weeks prior to the originally scheduled date of March 26 (Hope College).

"Our guys are really excited about the chance to play on the home field on Thursday," said CUC head coach Drew Stevenson. "It's very important to build a supportive fan base in the first season of a program, and having this extra home date will allow us the opportunity to do that right away. We think our fans will pick up on the game quickly and help us make CUC a very tough place for opponents to come play. I hope that tomorrow, we start to see a beautiful relationship grow between our players and our fans."

Concordia-Chicago and Kalamazoo are both first-year programs, the Cougars as part of the Midwest Lacrosse Conference (MLC) and the hornets as part of the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association. Kalamazoo comes into River Forest with one game under their belts already, a 13-3 loss on the road this past Saturday to DePauw University.

Live coverage of the Cougars-Hornets game, along with the remainder of the home games, is available through Concordia-Chicago's video stream as well as through live stats.
