Colleen Mullaney (Cary, Ill.) of the softball team is honored for the week of April 26-May 2.

Mullaney batted .385 over the Cougar softball team’s final eight games. The catcher led the Cougars past Maranatha Baptist April 26 with a combined 6-8 at the plate, four runs and five RBIs in Concordia’s 13-0 and 11-2 wins.

Mullaney also rose to the occasion on the team’s Senior Day May 1 in which she was one of the team’s two seniors honored. She drove home two first-inning runs and scored the winning run in the bottom of the eighth as the Cougars slipped past Concordia Wisconsin 3-2. Mullaney finished the week with eight runs scored and nine driven in.

Mullaney, the daughter of Mike and Renee Mullaney, is a 2006 graduate of Cary-Grove High School. She is a senior secondary education major with emphases in math and physical education.
