MILWAUKEE, WIS. – The Concordia University Chicago Track and Field team tackled the first outdoor meet of the season on a chilly day in Wisconsin as they headed up to Milwaukee to compete in the Wisconsin Lutheran Invite, placing 5
th out of 13 teams. Despite falling into the middle of the pack as a team, multiple Cougars found tremendous success individually adding to a large docket of personal records to their season tallies.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
- Henry Jones IV (Atlanta, Ga.) placed second in the 100 with a time of 11.23.
- Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) placed third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.87.
- Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.) placed third in the long jump with a mark of 6.17 meters.
- Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) placed first in the triple jump with a mark of 12.39 meters.
COUGAR PERSONAL RECORDS
A dozen Cougars picked up new personal records on the day, adding to the infamous "PR Board".
- John Cano (North Riverside, Ill.) – 12.41 in the 100 meters
- Cardwell – 24.83 meters in the javelin throw
- Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) – 2:01.87 in the 800 meters
- Adrian Mendez (Plano, Ill.) – 26.98 meters in the javelin throw
- Gael Arroyo (Cicero, Ill.) – 4:39.10 in the 1500
- Gustav Strenge (Battle Creek, Mich.) – 4:49.46 in the 1500
- Kameron Jackson (Chicago, Ill.) – 5:17.60 in the 1500
- Alfredo Jaramillo-Ruiz (Lyons, Ill.) – 5:52.94 in the 1500
- William Leonard (Oskaloosa, Iowa) – 17:30.56 in the 5000
- Taylor– 6.17 meters in the long jump
- CJ Morris (Douglasville, Ga.) – 10.72 meters in the shot put
- Travon Thomas (Wauchula, Fla.) – 8.85 meters in the shot put
