Knight Delivers Stand Out Performances as Cougars Win Home Invite

RIVER FOREST, ILL.- The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track and field team competed at the Cougar Invite. The Cougars kept their momentum going on Day Two of the invite, achieving multiple top performances and personal records. CUC won the meet, finishing first out of 13 teams with 128 points.
 
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES
  • Vincent Scarnato (Pottstown, Pa.), Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.), Kamren Hannah (El Paso, Texas) and Tremain Dockery (Chicago, Ill.) competed in the 4x100m, placing third place with a new season best of 43.19.
  • Knight hit a new season best to win the 200m with a time of 22.04.  In the 100m, he recorded season best a time of 10.93, tying for second place. 
  • Hannah raced in the 100m, tying for second with a new personal best of 10.93. In the 200m, with a personal best time of 22.30, he finished third.
  • Gael Arroyo (Cicero, Ill.) took second place in the 800m with a finish time of 2:00.76.
  • Donovan Depakakibo (Norridge, Ill.) and Nathaniel Hernandez (Harwood Heights, Ill.) followed with times of 2:03.79 and 2:04.42 to finish fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 800m.
  • Dayton Merli (Union Mills, Ind.) took first place in the pole vault with a new season best of 3.95m.
  • Korey Randle (East Moline, Ill.) placed second in the triple jump with a new season best of 13.87m.
 
COUGAR PERSONAL RECORDS
  • Jonah Winkelman (Plano, Ill.)  new personal bests of 11.89 in the 100m and 24.50 in the 200m.
  • Kam Jackson (Chicago, Ill.)  ran a personal best in the 800m with a time of 2:06.18, placing seventh.
  • Cosby Lux (Landgrove, Vt.) secured a personal best with a time of 2:12.21 in the 800m.
  • Darius Strother (Joliet, Ill.) raced in the 200m with a new season best record of 24.15.
  • Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.) secured a new personal best in the long jump with a leap of 6.58m, finishing sixth.
  • Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) competed in the pole vault, earning a new personal best of 3.05m. Cardwell also set a personal best time of 17.46 in the 110m hurdles.
