CHICAGO, ILL. — Huge milestones were hit for the Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track and field team, as they participated in the Windy City Rumble hosted by University of Chicago. As a team, the Cougars finished seventh out of 13 teams in this Saturday afternoon meet.
Notable Performances

Henry Jones IV (Atlanta, Ga.) made a huge splash, as he broke the school record for the 60-meter. A record that was previously held since 2012, Jones ran a 7.01 second run to earn a fourth place finish

Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, Texas) had the lone first place finish on the day with a PR time of 51.41 seconds in the 400-meter. He also finished seventh in the 200-meter with a new time of 23 seconds

The 4x400 relay team were runner-ups with a time of 3:30.61, this included Sanchez, Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio), Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.), and Vincent Scarnato (Pottstown, Pa.)

Knight also had a successful day in high jump with a fifth place finish overall

Two Cougars had new PRs in the 200-meter; Jones with a time of 23.43 seconds and Jayden Taylor (Southfield, Mich.) with a time of 24.52 seconds

In the 800-meter, Donovan Depakakibo (Norridge, Ill.) picked up a new PR at 2:10.52 and Kameron Jackson (Chicago, Ill.) ran a time of 2:17.02

The PRs came flying in for the Cougars, as both Mauricio Xochitecatl (Carol Stream, IL) and William Leonard (Oskaloosa, Iowa) both had new times in the 3000-meter at 9:42.97 and 10:01.46, respectively

Finally, the long jump has new PRs from Scarnato with a distance of 5.95 meters and Cardwell with a distance of 5.81 meters
