RIVER FOREST, Ill. – Senior
Elias De Santiago (Chicago, Ill.) was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team. He was chosen to represent Concordia University Chicago (CUC) due to his excellence both on the field and in the classroom.
Student-athletes must have a 3.5 GPA or above to be nominated for CSC Academic All-District. De Santiago will now be a candidate for Academic All-American accolades, which will be announced on December 10.
De Santiago appeared and started in 14 games for the Cougars this season. A key leader in the midfield for CUC, he recorded 12 shots with three on goal. Against Illinois Institute of Technology (Oct. 2), he scored the late-game winner, leading the Cougars to their first NACC win of the season. Over his career, De Santiago has been a two-time NACC Scholar Athlete and will graduate with a degree in Sports Management.
