Bourbonnais, IL – The Concordia University Chicago (CUC) men's track and field team kicked off their indoor season for 2023-2024 as they traveled south for the Olivet Nazarene University Holiday Invite.
The Cougars opened up their day on the track as
Miguel Sanchez (San Antonio, TX) had a very impressive performance in his debut. Sanchez registered a top ten placement coming in seventh in the 400-meter with a time of 52.68 in his debut. The highest placement of the day came from
Mauricio Xochitecatl (Carol Stream, Ill.) who finished top five in the men's mile with 4:44.10. The senior also finished top seven in the 800-meter running a 2:05.41.
In the field events, the Cougars continued to build on an already impressive outing.
Austin Knight (Forest Park, Ill.) secured a top three finish jumping 1.77-meters in the high jump.
Matthew Cardwell (Cincinnati, Ohio) also contributed valuable points after leaping 11.81-meters in the triple jump.
