Traveling to the University of Chicago, the Concordia University Chicago men's track and field team participated in the Margaret Bradley Invite on Saturday. The invitational acted as a final check for the team before they partake in the NACC Championships next weekend.
Martin Egbo (Williamsburg, Va.) and
Marquis Overstreet (Hazel Crest, Ill.) both finished top ten in shot put. Egbo placed fourth because of his 10.94m throw, while Overstreet came in eighth with his throw of 9.75m. Overstreet also finished fifth in the weight throw.
Junior
Jaylen Glass (Merrillville, Ind.) tied for second in pole vaulting with his 3.81m jump. In the 60m, Glass finished 14th.
In the 400m, graduate student Max Woywood (Berwyn, Ill.) placed 4th in the 400m finals with a time of 53.37.
Matthew Wolthusen (Stickeny, Ill.) also finished top ten in the 400m, placing ninth and setting a personal best with his 56.19 run. Additionally, freshman
John Cano (North Riverside, Ill.) set his 400m best thanks to his 57.10 time, which earned him 11th.
Senior
Andres Salvador (Chicago, Ill.) had a productive day, finishing top ten in the 60m and 200m, while setting a personal best in the 60m with a 7.44 time. Meanwhile, junior
Kevin Louie (Niles, Ill.) set two new personal bests with his 200m and 400m runs.
CUC had two runners finish back-to-back in the 800m finals. Freshman
Callum Hardwicke (Lake St. Louis, Mo.) came in sixth with a time of 2:08.30, while junior
Ernest Bogart (Pflugerville, Tx.) placed seventh with his time of 2:08.43.
Sophomore
Mauricio Xochitecatl (Carol Stream, Ill.) set a personal best in the 3000m, finishing sixth with 9:47.43. Freshman
Heath Carter (Lake Odessa, Mich.) also set a personal record; his was in the mile run with a 5:10.74 finish.
