Box Score Chicago, Ill. -- Concordia University Chicago Women's Tennis (0-1) took the court on Saturday for the first time since Oct. 12, 2019, hitting the road to face the Scarlet Hawks of Illinois Institute of Technology (2-2).
The Cougars fell 7-0 in the opener but showed a lot of positive energy throughout the day. It was the collegiate debut for all seven of the individuals in action, and it was clear they were excited to be a part of the return of CUC tennis.
Junior Ali Wingood (Chicago, Ill.) and freshman Kamila Giza (River Grove, Ill.) were responsible for each of the games CUC won on the afternoon. The duo managed one during their double's contest before each picking up a game in singles play.
It's a much quicker turnaround between matches this time for CUC. They'll be back on the road tomorrow taking on St. Norbet's College in De Pere, Wis., with doubles set to begin play at 1:30 p.m.
