Following a four-set loss to the Dominican University Stars (7-1) on Friday night, the Concordia University Chicago men's volleyball team (2-3) gets an immediate shot at redemption on Tuesday, March 9, when they visit the Igini Sports Forum in another edition of the Division Street Rivalry.
Â
The Cougars started Friday's match strong, winning the opening set 25-21. It was the first time in the short history of the program that they took a set from the Stars, and they hope to continue that progress with their first win against the No. 10 team in all of NCAA DIII.
Â
For Concordia, sophomore
Luke Vozenilek (Westmont, Ill.) continues to shine. He currently leads the team with 68 kills and ranks third in the NCAA for attacks per set with 11.19. Senior
Ryan Felbinger (Cicero, Ill.) remains a threat for the Cougars on defense, accumulating six blocks over the season. Freshman
Blake Rosen (Aldine, Va.) is also a big help for the Cougars with 25 digs on the season. Senior
Trent Weber (Carol Stream, Ill.) will lead the offense again as the team's sole setter.
Â
As they travel to Dominican, the Cougars will be ready to take on this ranked team. The Stars remain as a top team in the country, sitting at No. 3 for blocks and No. 9 in hitting percentage. Junior George Kougan leads the team in kills with 89 while senior Bregin DeMarco lights up the backrow on defense with a team-high 60 digs.
Â
First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. between the two teams. A live stream can be found at
